Hows it goin everyone? I pray you are well. Ever heard of the Mandela effect? If you have, Have you ever looked into it? If you have looked into it, Have you ever questioned your memories? Do you remember the past exactly how it happened? Are you sure?!
I bring this up because I had a great time hangin out in the chat for:
https://rumble.com/v4s9e9n-keep-calm-the-best-is-yet-to-come-17.html
The chat was bumpin and the hosts were thumpin so many things that were very quotable. So, to that point, Im gonna try to remember some of these lil pockets of truth, these quotables. Will I remember them correctly? Lets find out. (Im gonna cheat because there were some gems and I dont want to get them wrong).
In chat BarbaraZajlcek said “Observe don’t absorb”. Too right! Dont give into emotion. Step back, Breathe, mitigate the problem, As Grow said. Dont add to the problem, seek to alleviate the problem. Definitely works for me. Something I need to work on.
Our host Wynters had a great analogy about anchors. “Let GOD be your anchor! Not all this baggage youre carrying around…”. Did I quote that exactly? Nope, but you get the gist. Love you Wynters!
Someone in chat, I believe, said “GOD is perfect. He doesnt need our performance”. SMACK! I said oops, up, side the head, I said oops upside ya head. Dang right! We arent here to validate GOD, We need GOD to validate ourselves. Thats how I took it anyway.
BAPman had a great quotable, let me get this straight, Id buy this T-Shirt: “Ive regretted various arguments in my life but Ive never regretted ending one”. Truth to power and the power being US! We dont have to get into arguments and we dang sure dont have to win the arguments but ending the argument is most important. Find common ground. Word things in a way that unites instead of divides. This is how we move forward. Thats how I took it.
On that note Ill end “Keep calm” quotes and move on. Now, Theres a memory I have from my youth, growin up in Collinwood, where a friend of mine and I were walkin home from the convenience store. Mind you, this is over 40yrs ago and this memory has caused contention between my friend and I because we remember it differently.
We were walking down Nathaniel and we passed a house that had some guys hangin out on the porch that were rather opposed to our being in the same neighborhood as them, to put it nicely. See, We werent Italian. He is Greek and Im Irish. No matter, We were both considered “Hillbillies”. Anyway, We saw them sittin on the porch and crossed the street so they felt no threat. No matter. Our very being in the neighborhood was a threat so they ran across the street to us to give us grief, to put it nicely.
Now, In my memory, dishevelled as it is, there was 4 of them and 2 of us and much to my surprise they didnt care 2 chits about me this time. They wanted to funk with my friend. They were pushin on us, callin names and makin threats. I kept pushin back but they kept sayin “Fights not with you Ed”. I said “If youre f n with my friend youre F n with me”. They didnt care. They kept closin in, throwin shoulders, names and the like. You know how teens are. Tryin to start chit. Finally one of them threw a punch and landed it on my friends face. My friend ran ahead of me to get away and 3 of them stayed with me while the one ran ahead to catch my friend.
They were about 2 houses ahead and I could hear this A Hole playin nice, askin “Oh, Are you OK?” “Did that hurt”? And then WHAM! A Hole punched my friend square in the face. Got my friend to let his guard down to do so. I ran up to the guy that hit my friend while my friend ran home. The guy that punched my friend was laughin and said “Fights not with you Ed”. F U I said and my fight lasted with him until that A Hole was shot by a “black” kid I went to school with. See, Italians went to parochial schools. They didnt get to know the “black” kids from the other side of the neighborhood and that cost him his life. He was shot at the very convenience store that my friend and I had left earlier in the story.
Anyway, The way I remember this lil ditty is that one of the guys that accosted us, as we were walkin home was, supposedly, one of my friends best friends and he swears that this guy wasnt there and if he was he wouldnt have taken part in what happened that day. I remember differently. Am I wrong? Do I remember correctly? I question now. I can see the whole thing in my mind but did I make things up? Did I add to it?
Funk! Im getting old. Neither here nor there. Lets get to the end of this thing MmmKay?! What is the Mandela effect? Is “Looking Glass” real? Is time travel possible? Ive heard that at 88mph in combination with 1.21 jigaWatts time travel is possible.History, or as I like to call it His Story! changes all the time.
Lets play historical quotes. Are they real? Can you verify such? Were you there?
Whats the proper quote? “Is it live or is it Memorex?” or “Is it real or is it Memorex?” Ill give you 2 commercials I found:
See, I remember “Is it real or is it Memorex?’ but with the Maxell commercial.
Ever look at Chick Fil A or is it Chik Fil A?
Did Mandela die in prison or did he live and was released from prison?
Who said “Live free or die” or was it “Give me liberty or give me death”?
Do you remember the Monopoly guy with or without a monocle?
(Sidenote: I once asked my Greek friend “Who wins at the end of a Monopoly game”? He answered “Whomever owns the most property”. I said “No, Its the bank”! At the end of every Monopoly game everything goes back to the bank”. REMEMBER THAT!)
Just puttin it out there but some of our favorite Bible quotes may have been changed as well. Think about the parable Jesus taught about the workers gettin hired at the beginning of the day and the end of day. What were they paid? Denari or bags of gold? What do you remember?
In short, What do you remember? What do you properly remember? Do you remember what you were told or what you actually know?
William J. Casey, Ex head of the CIA:
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." - William J. Casey, CIA Director (1981)
Stay on your toes. Question everything lest you fall prey to the Mandela effect!
Love ya,
Ed
I remember Memorex commercials with Ella Fitzgerald... Is it live or is it Memorex... and Her singing and the glass breaking. I remember the Monopoly guy with a Monocle... Shaggy had an Adam's apple damn it! lol...
